Facebook's Messenger App Helps Reboot Its Mobile Platform

The good people at Facebook have finally come up with an improvement on their somewhat lacking mobile app. Though the Facebook team still has a long way to go on improving their mobile platforms, the new Facebook Messenger app is a step in the right direction. Free and without advertisements, Messenger allows you to message Facebook friends from anywhere and even share your location when you’re on the go. Just log in with Facebook and Messenger brings up all of your ongoing messages and chats in one easy to navigate window. Tap the arrow icon in the text box to share your location and even tap the camera icon to take a picture or choose one from your saved pictures and send that along as well.  

Messaging multiple friends at once is easy, and you can also use the service to message people’s phones directly if their numbers are listed in your contacts or on Facebook. This app will definitely replace the third party app I was using to manage my Facebook chats, and is a much needed improvement on Facebook’s delve into mobile technology.
