MyWater app review: track your hydration levels and set yourself daily water intake targets

Reviews

Introduction

This is a great little app which is designed to help you monitor how much water you’re drinking from day to day, while also enabling you to set yourself targets for however many glasses or bottles of water you would like to consume so you can stay adequately hydrated and safeguard your future health and wellbeing.

There is very little functionality in this app but if I’m honest, I don’t really think it needs much else because there is often a lot of unnecessary fluff which tends to get added to apps like this and it ultimately just detracts from the core purpose.

If you’re concerned about your water intake or would just like to track it for a while, this is exactly the app you’re looking for.

Drink More Water!

It always shocks me to learn how many people severely neglect their water intake, usually opting instead for tea, coffee, soda, and God only knows what else, which only serves to dehydrate them further.

I’m constantly ranting on to people about the importance of staying hydrated so a grin spread across my face when I stumbled haplessly upon MyWater; now I can shove this app in people’s faces as well as berating them for not drinking enough water!

The features are very simple in this app; you basically set yourself a daily target of how many glasses or bottles of water you want to drink each day and then each time you hit a certain amount you swipe upwards to gradually fill on the glass on the screen.

You can drink more than your set quota if you want to, so don’t worry about the glass overflowing!

To measure your intake, you can choose between US and Metric units, and you can also choose between differently-sized glasses or a bottle. Alternatively, you can specify a custom container with a volume of your choice.

You can also set reminders for yourself so with MyWater on your iPhone, you’ll never have any excuses for not getting in enough water!

Final Words

Pretty much every process in your body uses water; from flushing toxins out of your liver and kidneys to burning fat, regulating hormones, and keeping your skin clear, the benefits of adequate hydration are too numerous to list here but needless to say, everyone could do with drinking a little more water!

As someone who is very health-conscious and well versed in the potential issues caused by neglecting things like hydration and nutrition, I really cannot recommend this app strongly enough.

Here’s a challenge for those of you without any major health issues: If you’re currently drinking 0-2 liters of water a day, try upping your intake by 30-50% for one week using this app for reminders. I can almost guarantee that gradually increasing your water intake in this fashion will have endless benefits to your physical and mental wellbeing!
