Introduction
Touchcast, by the company that goes by the same name, is an iPhone video sharing app that lets you create, share and watch completely interactive videos. A TouchCast is a video that is fully browsable.
Basically, if you see something in the Touchcast that interests you, you can tap it and it will open in a browser while the video is still playing. This includes everything from other videos to maps to simple web pages.
Within this video sharing app you can watch all the TouchCasts available via the TouchCast website, but you also get to create them with a built-in video editor.

Browsing the App and Watching Videos
As I downloaded this app, I thought it was purely to watch videos. I have to say I’m really surprised with how TouchCasts actually changes the way you use the Internet.
Now you simply watch a video and when you see or hear something interesting, you simply tap on the information and you can read it while the video keeps playing. This is really handy when you want a constant stream of information, or want to learn more about a specific subject.
The videos don’t load really quickly in this app, which is quite annoying.
In the timeline of the video, you can see where interactive objects are actually placed so you can easily scroll back and forth when you need to.

Creating a TouchCast
Creating a TouchCast is really easy. You start by preparing all the content you want to show in your video. When you’ve got everything you need set up and ready to go, you can start recording your video.
While recording, you can tap on your content in the bottom of your screen when you want it to appear. Simply click again and it will disappear. You can always pause the recording of the video to add more content or add different visual or audio effects.
The app even comes with its own green screen so you can do really cool stuff with this feature. You can also write on the screen, add text whenever and wherever you want, and mess around with all kinds of different filters and effects.
When you’re done, simply press save and upload it to your TouchCast account and it will be published for everyone to see.
