BookIt.Com is an app designed to provide you with all the resources you need to quickly and easily find flights and hotels for your favorite destinations, with the added benefit of being able to search for combined packages to save money and make booking your travels even more convenient.

This app isn’t a bad way of finding reasonably priced flights and hotels if you’re planning a vacation but I find the search functions to be a little rigid. You have to be fairly precise with your search criteria to avoid being presented with nil results; I would rather see suggestions based on your search terms.

Still Searching

I’ve run about half a dozen searches for flight routes around the world, including routes that I myself have flown, and so far I’ve been unable to get this app to actually produce any search results.

It’s hard for me to review the actual content of this app when I can’t access it so I will say this: it appears as if the most recent update to BookIt.com has done something to ruin perhaps the connectivity of the app with the online flight and hotel database.

Aside from the ugly neon green color of the user interface, I would say that this app looks fairly decent and runs very smoothly and reliably, but the search features just don’t appear to be working.

Suggestions for Improvement

Along with getting the search functions up and running again, the developer definitely needs to include date flexibility when searching flights and hotels, and there should be automatically generated suggestions of hotels and airlines.

It might also be wise of the developer to capitalize further by including featured offers from vacation package providers as this would place them at the forefront of users’ attention and would definitely make BookIt.com a little more visually appealing.

• Search function needs to include date flexibility
• When no search results are produced, the app should suggest similar results to improve user-friendliness
• User interface is a very ugly green color, although this may just be my personal tastes!

In its current state, this app is basically useless, so I would advise against wasting your time downloading it until the next update is released. Hopefully this will get the search features operational again.

In all honesty, it doesn’t look as if much attention has been paid to the details in BookIt.com, what with the minimal functionality and lack of search customization options. This is the best flight booking app for iPhone out there. In fact, it really falls short. 

For this app to be a worthy contender in its category, there are going to need to be some serious improvements made to get the app working properly, improve the user interface, and generally add some more interesting features such as videos and social media integration to make it more enjoyable to use.
