Introduction
Mini Warriors by Trinity interactive Limited is a strategy app set in a fantasy universe. This war game for iPhone puts you in command of several heroes and their troops and you need to set them up before each battle in the best way to destroy your enemies in the quickest way possible.
It’s a typical free-to-play game where you spend energy to send your men to battle. This energy will refill itself every five minutes or so, meaning you sometimes have to wait (or spend money) to play. You have to be online to be able to play this game.
Let's see if this is a great iPhone app for strategy games as we dive deeper through our Mini Warriors app review.
Your Heroes and their Minions
You start out the game with a pretty lengthy tutorial on how the game works. The basics are very simple: recruit different heroes to fight for you on the battlefield.
Each and every hero has its own strengths and weaknesses and it’s up to you to set them up tactically to make the most out of these strengths and hide your weaknesses the best possible.
You can hire new heroes in the tavern and strengthen your army for battles with ever-more-powerful foes.
With every battle you win your heroes will gain a bit of experience, thus making them stronger and allowing them to take on bigger and better enemies. There are a lot of different battles and challenges to be played.
How It Works
During actual gameplay you do nothing. Just sit back and relax while the battle plays out in front of your eyes. All your heroes storm forward at the enemy and start attacking by themselves.
In the initial levels, it’s almost impossible to lose, but in later levels, the enemies get a lot stronger and you will find yourself losing a lot of battles while trying to find the right tactics to deploy.
The graphics are cute and the battles are really fun to watch. The goal is not only to win, but to win as quickly as possible to get the biggest reward and the best star rating. Sometimes you will receive loot after a battle, which can range from weapons and armor to a treasure chest with surprise content.
A slow connection with the server makes the game’s load times last forever sometimes and battles can drag on a bit.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Strategically deep gameplay
- Funny graphics and sound
- Tons of stages and challenges
Cons
- Battles can be a bit boring sometimes
- Connection with the server is slow
Conclusion
Mini Warriors is a fun game if you’re looking for a nice, free-to-play strategic role playing game. There’s not much gameplay in here, but just some strategic planning that will decide the outcome of battle.
To make the most of the game, you’ll need to purchase in-app content, but this is not required for people who have a lot of patience. I recommend this app to any armchair general.
