Weather Motion app review: stunning audio-visual weather forecasting like you’ve never seen before

Introduction

This is a truly gorgeous app with a beautiful visual design which features weather forecasts for the coming week, with each day featuring its own video loop and ambient sound effects in the background to reflect the predicted weather conditions.

This app is great; you can either use your device’s integrated GPS to find your current location or search for alternative locations to see what the weather is like anywhere in the world. The backgrounds in Weather Motion really are beautiful and don’t detract at all from the forecast information, so I would definitely recommend checking this app out if you’re looking for basic weather forecasting with a little added extra.

Weather Forecasting in Motion

The weather forecasts are presented very nicely, and you can swipe left and right to see a full-screen view of today’s conditions and the subsequent week ahead.

The information provided isn’t incredibly detailed but you’ll have access to all of the essentials you’d expect from an app of this type, including the current temperature which can be viewed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius, the wind speed and direction, the humidity, and the predicted high and low temperatures for the day.

 

Other Features

I like the way you can also very quickly and easily switch between your stored locations as this enables you to rapidly check the weather conditions at home as well as locations such as, say, your daily commute or the home of a relative who lives out of town.

Although Weather Motion appears to have been developed with esthetics in mind - and this has certainly been achieved - I can really see how well put together the app is as a whole. Although you will have to contend with some small ads at the bottom, you can upgrade to the ad-free version if you like what you see in this free version.

Final Words

I always thought the iOS Weather widget had a very nice visual layout but Weather Motion definitely takes this one, and there is also the option to switch between two different layout formats depending on which you prefer.

If you’re looking for an in-depth analysis of weather conditions with 10-day forecasting, and radar and satellite imagery, this probably isn’t going to be the app for you, but if you want a nice basic weather app with an emphasis on esthetics, Weather Motion is exactly what you’re looking for.

Either way, I highly recommend checking this app out, so be sure to at least take it for a test spin and see what you think of the audio-visual aspects.
