WeatherCast HD FREE app review: detailed weather forecasting in a stunning visual format

Introduction

WeatherCast HD FREE is a very pretty little weather forecasting app which enables you to save multiple locations and view the current weather conditions for pretty much any location in the world, as well as providing up-to-the-minute weather reports for your current location and extensive four-day forecasting .

By now, I’ve reviewed so many different weather forecasting apps that it’s really quite rare that I stumble upon one which genuinely impresses me.

WeatherCast HD FREE is one such example of a truly fantastic weather app which features a brilliantly laid-out single-page view of weather conditions, accompanied by beautiful stylized backgrounds to reflect the weather report.

Weathering the Storm

There are countless weather forecasting apps in the App Store which make it quite apparent that the developers have attempted to break the mold and set a new precedent in the genre, but have failed miserably!

WeatherCast HD FREE is definitely not one of these apps, and I’m very impressed with what the developer has attempted to do here.

You’ll probably want to start by using your device’s GPS to find the weather for your current location, and once you’ve done this you’ll be able to see all of the details presented on a convenient single-page dashboard.

 

Weather Forecasting Just Became an Art Form

When you look at the weather conditions, you’ll see all of the usual information you’d expect, such as temperature, high and low temperatures, humidity, wind speed and direction, precipitation, and a general overview of the weather such as "Cloudy" or "Sunny."

At the bottom, you’ll also see a basic 4-day forecast which will display the high and low temperatures for each day as well as a small image depicting, for example, sunny or stormy weather.

If you choose to save multiple locations, you can navigate among them by swiping left and right with your finger, so it really couldn’t be any easier!

Final Words

Having seen the best and the worst of what is on offer in the category of weather apps, I’m absolutely certain that WeatherCast HD FREE is one of the best in the App Store.

You won’t have access to features such as radar and satellite imagery, severe weather alerts, and some of the other nice extras which come with more fully featured weather apps, but you will get all of the basic information most people want from an app of this kind, and all of it is presented in a very, well, pretty manner!

If you’re looking for extensive weather map imaging, video content, and so on, you’ll probably want to opt for a NOWrad or NOAA weather forecasting tool, but if you just need some basic weather reporting in an easily digestible format, you’ll definitely love WeatherCast HD FREE.
