Introduction

Smash Bandits by Hutch Games Ltd is a free-to-play driving game that allows you to pick a car, run away from the police, and crash through as many objects as possible, increasing your wanted level and making more money. The game pretends your chase is aired on television, and the more you crash and burn, the more viewers you will entertain and the more money you make. This money is used to smash again, but also to unlock powerful upgrades and crazy power-ups.

Clever Controls and Wacky Upgrades

As you would expect, you start the game with the most basic of cars. By racing, you can earn money to unlock all kinds of upgrades for your car, such as speed, smash power, and handling. You can also equip your car with gadgets. The first gadget to which you have access is used to slam overtaking cop cars off the road.

When you start your first run, you will notice that this game has some really clever controls. You simply keep your finger on the screen behind your car, and it will accelerate. By moving your finger to the left or the right, you can steer the car in those directions. There is no specific track to follow, but an arrow will guide you where you need to go to get more viewers or to get to the next stage of your chase. You might even end up in a boat to escape from the police!

 

In-Game Currency

The easiest way to earn your in-game currency is to simply play the game. You will start out with plenty of cash, but the game will need you to test out upgrades and spend that money to race again. Every time you race, it will cost you 500 bucks, so after a few races you will be out of cash, especially if you’re not doing too well. Of course this game has a way around this. You can either watch a video and quickly make some extra bucks, or you can spend real-world money to buy more of these bucks.

The price of this varies between $0.99 to $99.99, depending on how much you need. To unlock new cars, you will need casino chips. You earn these by completing all kinds of challenges, but cars are so expensive you will have to play for a long time to actually be able to buy that new car. Chips can be bought as well, in a similar price range as the bucks I mentioned before.

Smash Bandits is a fantastic action game. It has great explosive moments and can get quite hard. It’s too bad that if you’re not a good player, you won’t be able to play until you invest in the game. The app is compatible with both iPhone and iPad.
