Introduction
iGeeky is an app by Pedro Miranda that will keep everyone up-to-date on the world of technology. Choose from different kinds of topics that are of interest to you and customize your experience so you can keep up-to-date on all things geeky. If you’re sitting at home with your iPad, or on public transport with your iPhone, this app will keep you on top of all the geeky news.

Customization is the Key
On the main page, there is an overview of topics nicely illustrated with a photo of the latest news. Here you can go to the settings menu and remove or organize your different topics. If you go to the page to the left, you can select from a lot of different outlets, ranging from tech websites to geek websites. After having added your favorite websites to your home screen, just tap on the website to get an overview of all news that recently occurred.

You can choose to upgrade to iGeeky premium, which will set you back $1.99, but will make your homepage fully customizable and will get rid of the annoying ads. More news sources will also be made available through this upgrade.
Double Posts and Sharing Options
If for some reason you don’t like reading news from a particular outlet, you can easily disable this one so no articles from that particular website will ever pop up again. Regrettably, this leaves the app open for many double posts, especially when a popular event is happening, or new announcements are made on anything tech related. One thing is for sure: with this app you will never miss the news you’re interested in.

Regrettably, no offline reading options are available in this app, be it in the full version, or the free version I am using. You can, however, open the webpage in Safari, or share an article via Twitter and email.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
All tech news all the time
-
Customize it to your needs
-
Tons of clever options
Cons
-
Double news posts
-
Only adds small topics to the home screen
-
No offline reading
-
Minimal sharing options
Conclusion
iGeeky is a great app, clearly made by techies for techies. Everything a geek needs is represented in this app, and the app is cleverly designed and has tons of really cool options that every iOS app should have. This is a news app where other companies can learn from. If only the app would have more offline reading and sharing options, it would definitely be the cream of the crop.
The app is designed for both iPhone and iPad, though I can imagine that on iPhone the fonts would be too small to read. The app requires just over 26 MB, which is quite large compared to other news apps. Ads are a bit annoying, but can be disabled by buying the full version of this app.
