Introduction
The deer hunter game I played is also one of the first videogames I ever really got into: Duck Hunt for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Since then, I never really got interested in hunting games, as they were either too realistic or not realistic enough.
The best games for the iPhone-2021
The Deer Hunter series has always been one of the best hunting games mainly in the United States where hunting is a lot more common than in Europe.
The latest installation of this hunting game for iPhone is called Deer Hunter 2014 and is developed by Glu Games Inc. In this deer hunting game app you go on a hunt for a specific animal, and when you kill it, you move on to the next hunt.
How It Works
Deer Hunter 2014 is a typical free-to-play game, where you play short simple missions to gain more money and experience. Each hunt takes a little bit of energy up from your energy meter, and when you run out you won’t be able play more. This energy does replenish over time.

With the money you make while hunting you can buy new guns that will have more power or zoom to make your hunt go easier. In the game you simply aim with your finger, and when you’re happy you can fire and hope your bullet will hit the target.
The first missions are very easy, but soon enough you will find that investing in new equipment, or simply upgrading your current guns are necessary to win and move on to the next hunt.
Graphics and Sound
This is where the game truly stands out. The graphics of the game are simply stunning, and the sounds are lifelike. It feels like you really are on a hunt, and in later levels, the thrill of making a huge kill will make you feel proud.
The only thing that would make it more realistic is if you could put the head of your kill above your fireplace at home. This game is a perfect example on where these free-to-play games are going in terms of production values.
More and more games are investing in giving us, the players, the most thrilling and good-looking experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Stunning graphics
- Fun gameplay
- Feel like you’re on a hunt
Cons
- The free-to-play model can get on your nerves, as the game wants your money
Conclusion
I didn’t expect Deer Hunter 2014 to be this fun. I’ve read about previous iterations in the series, which were mainly for home consoles and PC, but this mobile version really brings home the bacon.
With great graphics, realistic sound, and fun gameplay, there is nothing holding this game back from becoming really popular.
I wish they would make this game available for $4.99 instead of sticking with the free-to-play model. The app is compatible with both iPad and iPhone, and even though it looks amazing, only requires just under 50 MB in size.
