The Preschool and Kindergarten Games app is meant to give kids an entertaining and encouraging way to learn simple things like colors, shapes, letters, and numbers. This iPhone preschool app can be played by kids ages two years and older.
The best iPad apps for Preschool (Pre-K)To see if this good preschool app for iPhone and iPad users is the right choice for you and your kids, keep reading our Preschool and Kindergarten Games app review below.
The minute you launch this app you’re taken to the main menu where there are a list of activities to choose from. They are divided into age groups so you can find one that is appropriate for your child.
The best iPad apps for toddlersObviously picking one that is too young won’t challenge them enough, while picking one too advanced may leave them feeling frustrated. I really like that the ages are on the activities so the guesswork is taken out of it for you.
In this free version you are given two games for free; there are nine in total if you unlock the full version. The full version is available for $2.99. The free games you are given are Letters and Shapes/Colors.
Additional games available in the full version are counting, addition, subtract, alphabet, memory, spelling, and puzzles. The games range in age for kids from two years to five years of age.
The user interface is extremely kid-friendly, using touch controls to tap on the correct answers. There are spoken instructions so kids can follow along and know what to do. The instructions not only take kids’ through the steps, but also offer encouragement and congratulations. There is also a music track playing in the background to keep things light and fun.
The best iPad apps for reading for kidsThe games themselves are plenty of fun for kids. Although I am only able to play the two free ones I like the educational aspects it offers. There are sound effects, great graphics, and just an overall feeling of fun. It also felt like the game did get more challenging as you went along, which is great for kids.
There isn’t much in terms of special features and functions; instead, things are kept simple. This isn’t necessarily a negative though as kids will be entertained enough with what they’re given. My only complaint is that I wish there were more levels in each game.
With only the two free games available I can’t see kids staying interested in this app for too long. If you purchase the full version it may be another story.
Pros
Cons
The Preschool and Kindergarten Learning Games app is meant for kids ages two to five, providing them with fun, entertaining, and engaging activities. Although I find the games to be fun I just wish there was more of it in order to keep kids coming back for more.
