WRAL Weather app review: detailed and accurate weather forecasting delivered direct to your iPhone

Reviews

Introduction

This is definitely one of the better weather forecasting apps out there, providing a visual interface which looks great and includes all of the information you would expect to find in an app of this kind, plus a whole heap of additional features including video content.

The best iPad apps for weather

I’ve used a huge number of weather forecasting apps to date and I think WRAL Weather is a more-than-worthy contender.

If you’re looking for a no-nonsense weather app which offers loads of detail, seven-day forecasting, radar map imagery, and videos, you really can’t go wrong with this one so I’d definitely recommend checking it out.

You can very quickly find the current weather conditions for each of these by visiting the Current Conditions section and selecting the corresponding region.

As for the weather forecasting itself, you can save multiple locations into the app and get all of the usual details you’d expect, including high and low temperatures, humidity, precipitation, wind speed and direction, visibility, and much more.

Forecasts are available on an hourly or daily time frame, and you can view the weather for up to seven days in advance in the Daily view.

It's a Beautiful Day

The functionality doesn’t stop there as there are also lots of other sections providing information such as hurricane tracking, radar and satellite map views, DualDoppler 5000 imaging, severe weather alerts, and even general news stories related to the weather.

Because WRAL Weather seems to be largely focused on a certain region of the country, you can also benefit from the Closings section which details school closings in your area. The Almanac section is also very interesting as it includes various astronomical data such as sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset, moon phase, and more.

You’ll also be pleased to know that you can share a lot of the content within this app with friends and family online via Facebook, Twitter, and email. This is ideal for letting your loved ones know if there are any impending storms or hurricanes.

Final Words

There isn’t much more to say about WRAL Weather except to reiterate that it’s a fantastic app which has clearly been very expertly designed.

WRAL Weather probably has more functionality than I’ve ever seen before in a weather app, but without being even the least bit cluttered.
