College is a time for both studying and getting out into the world. It’s about figuring out your own opinions and meshing it with that of your peers. But now, more and more, college is a time where we get ever so acquainted with our personal tech as a means of completing assignments. High schools have become more and more tech-driven these days. But it’s still not at the level of college. In college, you’ve got to complete massive reports, cram from multiple sources, and proofread everything, all in a day. For this, we need some serious computing power and some serious software. Now, most lists are going to feed you 25 different organizational apps. But those are a dime a dozen. Here are the actual most useful apps for college students in 2020.

.

Evernote

In college, we’ve got to do something that, honestly, not many of us did in high school: take notes. If you’re in a technical course or anything that requires a massive amount of knowledge in protocols, you’re going to need one of the best tablets for note-taking in college, and the best software to back it up. This is your key. Don’t use 50 different ones and hope that you’ll remember which one will work. Stick to one and don’t deviate. The best so far is Evernote. Evernote has been around forever. It’s what people used to take notes on their iPod touch back in 2006. And since then it’s only gotten better. You can fit all your writing, voice notes, and even videos all on that one platform.

Khan Academy

Let’s face it, you don't remember everything from high school. It’s amazing we even remember half of it. But where our minds fail is where technology succeeds We have apps like Khan Academy. When your professor looks out into the class and expects everyone to have remembered the quadratic equation, you have Khan Academy at your fingertips with videos, essays, quick and dirty explanations, etc. It’s like an app full of the notes you should have taken back in high school. Not only do they have basic and detailed academic information, but they also have avenues for deeper learning in the fields of medicine, engineering, philosophy, and even sports statistics.

.

Offtime

This isn’t something any of us want to hear: we’re addicted to social media. Yeah, I know each and every person reading this has a problem and they’re not willing to admit it. There are a million and one reasons to stay glued, and none of them are very good. For that reason, Offtime is the best thing you can get on your devices for productivity. There is no better productivity app than one that allows you to stay away from social media. It sounds like a bummer. “What if Becky commented on that pic? What if something happened across the world?” None of that matters when you have an assignment. Get to work.

When it comes to apps, less is definitely more. Having apps that provide multiple functions and features are way better than individual ones for individual tasks. You end up wasting space, time and energy, trying to figure out which one is optimal. In truth, most are the same, so stick with what’s tried and true.
