This Horror Movie Maker app is just in time for Halloween. Create your very own idea of a horror movie that you can use to scare friends and family. Just like a real movie you can use a variety of actors who are all in costume and then get ready to film. You are given five free Horror Movie effects to use plus two filters (Massacre Classic and Psychopath). These are meant to add a little more fright to your film and make it feel incredibly real.

There are two modes you can use: the movie maker mode and the photo mode. In movie maker mode you are obviously filming a movie. The app offers you features like an on-screen timer that you can use to cue your actors, and the on-screen guide which helps line up the shot. In Photo Mode you can take a variety of photos and then use the editing tools to adjust the transparency, contrast, mask, and resize the image.

The Movie Maker mode allows you to share your movie by Facebook, email, YouTube, and your Camera Roll. Meanwhile Photo Mode lets you share by Twitter, Facebook, email, and Instagram.

So is this app capable of making scary pictures and movies like it claims? Absolutely! You will be shocked with just how professional, scary, and realistic your movie/photos look when you're finished. As soon as you enter the app you quickly realize there is nothing here to confuse or intimidate you. Yes there are editing functions and tools but they are all laid out in an easy-to-understand manner. You end up with some truly creepy results, which I wasn’t really expecting especially from a free app.

Keep in mind while this app is easy and fun to use it's clearly not appropriate for younger kids. The effects and filters are really quite scary so by the time you finish with your project anyone who frightens easy will be scared.
