The ABC Alphabet Phonics app doesn't include much on the screen other than a selection of letters, which is a smart move as more clutter means more distraction for little ones. As you play your virtual instructor will give you a letter to touch, from the three displayed on the screen. Touch the correct one and you are greeted a encouraging, "that's right," or "awesome," and you continue on to the next level. Get the letter wrong, however, and you receive a gong sound but you can try again, and keep trying until you get the answer right.

With each level the number of letters on screen increase; the letter your instructor tells you to touch is given at random. This not only provides a great way for kids to recognize a letter, but also how a letter sounds. As the game progresses your child may become overwhelmed and begin to have trouble finding the correct letter amongst the 10 displayed. Fear not, because in the settings of the game, accessed by the gear icon in the top right corner of the home screen, parents can customize the game so it is comfortable for their child's learning rate.

Through the settings section you can turn on and off the hint display, adjust the minimum and maximum items to display on screen, customize the display items and the game sounds, and even turn on and off other modules in the Preschool Kids Games' Library. 

The best part is all the additional modules are free. So your children can move on from their ABCs to animals, professions, circles, lower case letters, and even upper and lower case phonics, just to name a few of the 12 modules included.
