Digital Weight Scale app review: non-functional and for ‘entertainment’ purposes only
Introduction
What we have here is a rather unusual iPhone and iPad app that is designed to look like a digital weighing scale. Unfortunately, you can’t use your device as a weight platform so this review is to warn you guys against spending your money on such a utility.
The best iPhone apps for losing weightI would like to begin this review by stating that no, you cannot use your iPad, iPad touch, or iPhone as a weighing scale, which means that this app is almost completely useless and very unreasonably priced at $3.99.
It’s frustrating to see that people have actually spent their money on this app only to realize that the weight displayed on the screen is pretty much randomized and has nothing to do with the objects you place on top of your device!
NOT a Real Weighing Scale
The best way for me to describe Digital Weight Scale is to say that it is an app that has been designed to look like a digital weighing scale when in fact it is purely an illusion, especially given that the iOS devices aren’t capable of being used for this purpose.
The best weight tracking apps for iPhoneI wanted to have this review published so that at least one or two of you might see is and think twice before spending four bucks on a completely useless download.
Save Your Money
The developer has mentioned on the iTunes description page that this app supports Imperial and Metric systems; however, this is pretty useless in the context of what this app is all about.
Best iphone and ipad appsThe description also talks about how you can calibrate the scales but again, this would only make sense if you were calibrating some weight platform element of the iOS device itself, which simply doesn’t exist.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Although this app boasts features such as supporting Imperial and Metric systems, and even a calibration function, I can’t really count these as pros because the weighing scale is fundamentally not a weighing scale!
Cons
- This app is almost completely useless and very unreasonably priced at $3.99
- I also feel that the promotion (and pricing) of this app are very misleading, with some users not even realizing that this app is non-functional until they’d spent their money on purchasing it
Final Words
In closing, I would just like to reiterate that Digital Weight Scale is certainly not an app that you’ll want on your iPhone and iPad any time soon.
Keep your money and spend it on a real weighing scale instead!
