You get a couple free songs when you download this app: “Wake Me Up When September Ends” by Green Day and “Stairway To Heaven” by Led Zeppelin.

If you like what you see, you can buy more for $3.99 each. Some of the lessons you can buy include Hey There Delilah” by the Plain White Tees, “Hotel California” by The Eagles, and many more.

Features of the app include video lessons in HD, slow motion and loop options, backing track with voice, and a step-by-step approach by the teaching professionals. You also get an animated color-coded fretboard, right- or left-handed views, and a structure and chords diagram.

The colored dots on your screen show you where to place your fingers and where to strum.

Coach Guitar was updated to Version 1.7.3 on April 15, 2013. The update made some core bug fixes and added support for Russian. The current version has five customer ratings with an average of four out of five stars.

I’m not a big guitar fan but this app was pretty cool. I tried it out using my husband’s acoustic guitar and I actually played a song! Get it and try it today.
